5 - Repeat row labels. Tabular form is my favorite layout for pivot. It looks clear and easy on eyes. Do you know that you can enable “Repeat item labels” option to make the tabular layout even better. Bonus tip: When you repeat item labels, you can use Pivot Tables in other formulas (like SUMIFS) easily.

I have a number of pivot tables on a worksheet which I have set to display all the matching item labels by using the option in 2010 'Repeat all item labels'.
However, when the pivots are refreshed the option to repeat the item labels reverts back to the off state.
Is there a way to maintain this state or a simple macro that can turn it back on when the file is opened or refreshed?- Navigation

- Select a cell in the pivot field that you want to change On the PIVOT POWER Ribbon tab, in the Pivot Items group, click Show/Hide Items Click Repeat Item Labels – On or Repeat Item Labels – Off To set the Default Setting.
- Re: Remove PivotTable Duplicate Row Labels Sometimes when the cells are stored in different formats within the same column in the raw data, they get duplicated. Also, if there is space/s at the beginning or at the end of these fields, when you filter them out they look the same, however, when you plot a Pivot Table, they appear as separate headers.
- Select Repeat All Item Labels to turn on repeated labels and select Do Not Repeat Item Labels to turn off repeated labels. By default, a pivot table will show the field label and then blank cells underneath for all other sub-fields included in the field heading. Creating a Tabular Form layout with Repeat All Item Labels is a great way to create.
When you create a pivot table in Excel 2010 or Excel 2007, the row labels are in a compact layout – all the headings are listed in column A.
You can change the Report Layout setting, to either Outline form or Tabular form, so each row field is in a separate column.
Here’s the same pivot table in Outline form. The Region field is in column A, with a separate row for each new heading.

A new feature in Excel 2010 lets you repeat those row labels, so they appear on every row in the pivot table.
To turn on that feature for all the fields, select the Repeat All Item Labels on the Ribbon’s Design tab.
Here’s the pivot table in Outline form, with repeating row labels.
Repeating Labels for a Single Field
Instead of turning on repeating labels for the entire pivot table, you can apply the feature to a specific pivot table field.
In this example, the Region, City and Store fields are in the Row area, and we’ll turn on repeating labels for the Region field only.
- Right-click one of the Region labels, and click Field Settings
- In the Field Settings dialog box, click the Layout & Print tab
- Add a check mark to Repeat item labels, then click OK
Now, the Region labels are repeated, but the City labels are only listed once.
